Stable Value Portfolio Analyst

Role Value Proposition:

The IS&S team is RIS s resource for investment risk evaluation primarily for the Stable Value (SV) synthetics business.
The group also provides investment consulting, compliance and reporting solutions to the separate account business supporting RIS products.
The synthetic and separate account-based products supported by IS&S span several MetLife institutional businesses, including contracts and policies issued by various legal entities.
The Investment Analyst role supports the IS&S functions mainly related to investment compliance, credit analysis and performance analytics.

Key
Responsibilities:

  • Investment due diligence of asset managers and strategies that include primarily fixed income investments but also equities and alternatives.
  • Work with asset managers on setting the risk parameters of investment guidelines.
  • Work with our partners at BNYM on investment compliance matters.
    Validate breaches and work with asset managers on prompt resolutions.
  • Oversee the production of timely monthly and quarterly reports for separate account investors and performance reports for internal utilization.
  • Work with other team members on the quarterly Credit Surveillance report for all companies SV does business with.
    Critical report to monitor the credit health of our clients.
  • Investment analysis for special projects.
  • Aim for process improvement and innovation to achieve new efficiencies particularly with respect to data management.
  • Assist in the expense management of IS&S s external vendor services.

Essential Business Experience and Technical Skills:

Required:

  • Bachelor s degree, preferably in, Business, Finance, Economics or other related discipline.
  • 2-4 years of experience in fixed income investments and performance analysis.
  • Strong analytical and research skills, including some programming capabilities, i.
    e.
    QlikView or similar.
  • Excel high level.
    Proficiency with investment analytic tools (i.
    e.
    Bloomberg, Morningstar Direct, eVestment Alliance, etc.
    ).
  • Excellent oral and written communication.
  • Superior organizational and prioritization skills.
  • Team player (collaborating with a wide range of internal and external business partners).

Preferred:

  • MBA and/or CFA, CIMA designations or working towards one.
  • Experience with a broad array of asset managers, assets classes, investment strategies (products) and styles.
